Galangal root, also known as Little John, Chewing John and Galingale, comes from the rhizome of a tropical plant native to Indonesia. It is a member of the ginger family. NOT to be confused with Low John, Dixie John, Beth root, or Southern John which is the root of the trillium plant. Often confused buy a lot of spiritual shops and practicers.
